Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Imlil
Drive to Imlil (1,740m), gateway to High Atlas. Afternoon acclimatization walk. Overnight in village guesthouse.
Day 2: Imlil to Tizi Oussem
Trek through walnut groves and Berber villages. Cross Tizi Mzik pass (2,489m). Descend to Tizi Oussem village. Overnight with local family.
Day 3: Tizi Oussem to Toubkal Refuge (or alternative)
Those attempting Toubkal continue to mountain refuge (3,207m). Others take alternative trek to Azzaden Valley.
Day 4: Summit Day or Valley Trek
Pre-dawn start for Toubkal summit (4,167m). Others explore Azzaden Valley. Reunite for celebration dinner.
Day 5: Return to Marrakech
Morning trek back to Imlil. Traditional lunch, then transfer to Marrakech.
