Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Valley
Depart Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Lunch stop in the mountains. Visit Ait Benhaddou kasbah, then continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley. Evening walk to nearby kasbah ruins. Dinner and overnight in traditional kasbah hotel.
Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga
Morning exploration of Dades Gorge with its famous ‘Road of a Thousand Kasbahs’. Continue to Todra Gorge for a walk between towering canyon walls. Lunch in Tinghir, then drive to Merzouga. Late afternoon camel trek into Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Evening at desert camp with traditional dinner and Berber music under the stars.
Day 3: Desert Day and Second Night
Optional sunrise camel trek. Leisurely morning at camp or explore the dunes. Optional activities: sandboarding, 4×4 excursion to Khamlia village for Gnawa music, or visit to nomad families. Second sunset camel trek and another magical night in the desert.
Day 4: Merzouga to Marrakech
Early departure via a different route through Rissani, Erfoud (fossils), and Errachidia. Cross the High Atlas via the N10 with stops at scenic viewpoints. Pass through traditional Berber villages and arrive in Marrakech by evening.
